Tour America was founded 16 years ago by Mary McKenna who saw that there was a gap in the market for a company offering an excellent service to the U.S. at reasonable prices.

From small beginnings with a staff of 3, Tour America has grown to become Ireland's leading North-American travel specialists employing more than 50 enthusiasts.


Mary and her team built the business with key guiding principles that still dictate every decision even after 16 years. Customers must be looked after from start to finish, from before they book to after they return. Everything that Tour America sells to its customers is recommended from personal experience. We are specialists when it comes to travelling to the U.S., enabling us to give the best advice and the best deal by consolidating our buying power.

This was recognised in 2009 when the general public voted us Tour Operator of the Year 2009 in the Irish Travel Consumer Awards.

In March 2010, we received the award for Deloitte Best-Managed Company 2010 and again in 2011 This is the ultimate recognition for an Irish company and the process was rigorous looking at how we deliver customer-service, our strategy, our management of people and much more.


Tour America takes great pride in training our staff. Our dedicated  "Customer Is King" service is dedicated to you. Before you go away we will provide you with all the information that you need to know. Our Travel Experts will help you to select the best destination and accommodation that suits your needs. So, from the very first moment you make the first contact with us until the time you come back from your holiday we'll be there 24/7. Now that's a comfort, especially with so many charter airline companies and online travel tour operators faraway when you really need them.

Tour America are also proud to be sponsors of Barnardo's children's charity. We have done several team activities to raise money for our chosen charity so watch our website and facebook pages for updates. In November both our Managing Director and General Manager took part in the NY City Marathon on their behalf and both came over the finishing line. Well done Mary and Brian!  In the same month we had the pleasure of giving a days time to our local Barnardos centre and took on the challenge of painting the entire building on the inside. A fun and rewarding day was had!

Tour America is a licensed by the Commission for Aviation Regulation as a Travel Agent (Licence Number TA 0443) under the terms of the Transport (Tour Operators and Travel Agents) Act 1982. We are fully bonded to ensure that in the unlikely event of our insolvency you can continue with your planned holiday if you are already abroad or be refunded in full if your holiday has not already started.

 

We are also members of the Irish Travel Agents Association which obliges us to maintain the highest standards of conduct.
