Attractions
Visit Space Centre Houston, which is the official visitor’s centre for the NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space Centre. The centre spans 1,620 acres and consists of 100 facilities. Here you can experience a simulation of a zero-gravity environment in the Living in Space exhibit or encounter a virtual rocket launch complete with exhaust at the Blast Off Theatre.
Another exciting attraction in Houston is the Children’s Museums of Houston. This is the number one museum of this kind in the country where children of all ages can have a fun filled day. Reserve a full day to spend browsing the three levels of the Houston Museum of Natural Science if you want to see everything that this museum holds. Some of the exhibits include a planetarium, a butterfly and live insect zoo, and a chance to see the stars even in the daylight.
Houston Zoo is the 7th most visited zoo in the nation. Spend the day strolling through the facility’s beautifully landscaped grounds or enjoy a more hands-on encounter by scheduling a guided tour. There are over 4,500 animals and 900 species living in Houston Zoo waiting for all animal lovers.
Another great place to spend some great family time is Houston Museum District. The Houston Museum District refers to the collection of museums, galleries, and cultural centres located within a 1.5 mile radius of Herman Park. Galleria Mall, the largest mall in Houston, is an upscale shopping mall centrally located just outside the 610 loop in Houston’s Uptown District. The retail centre is anchored by Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue, and occupies such high-end tenants as Tiffany and Co., Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Yves Saint Laurent.
If you’re a bargain hunter, try one of the area’s outlet malls, where you’ll find designer clothing, shoes, accessories, and more, at a fraction of the retail price.
