Overview
Niagara Falls is by far Canada’s most famous visitor attraction! It`s located on the border of Ontario and New York State, just an hour and a half from Toronto. With the best views of the falls by far on the Canadian side, it is a must see!
Things to Do
The Maid of the Mist boat tour takes tourists to the foot of the falls, where you can appreciate their thunder and spray. It runs from April-October and boats depart every 15 minutes. If you’re feeling more adventurous then you can ‘Journey behind the falls’ through a series of tunnels to discover caves hidden behind the torrents or soar high above in a helicopter. Then head over the rapids for some white-water fun through the Niagara Gorge in a jet boat.
Great Gorge Adventure Pass
Niagara Parks offers a Great Gorge Adventure Pass, that includes access to the Maid of the Mist, Journey Behind the Falls, White Water Walk, and the Butterfly Conservatory, a one-day People Mover pass and discounts for other attractions.
Niagara at Night
The Niagara Tourist board have done wonders turning this natural wonder into an all round destination. In the evening the Falls are illuminated in a rainbow of colours until approximately midnight and there are fireworks over the Falls, Friday and Sunday nights in the summer months. At night, Niagara takes on a completely different aspect with restaurants, bars and a towering casino to enjoy.
Niagara Wine Route
Taste your way along the Niagara Wine route, with more than 50 wineries and sample the natural wonder that is Ice-wine; intense, sweet and sumptuous. The Niagara region is also well known for its culinary delights. Niagara on the Lake, often called the loveliest town in Ontario, is only a 20 minute drive away from Niagara Falls.
