The best piece of advice we can give you..

Book early. When renting a Motorhome, the cost is determined by fleet availability. In general, the earlier you book - the lower the price (& as vehicle availability reduces - the price increases). USA & Canada Motorhome rentals and holidays have become a very popular holiday option over the past few years leading to a shortage of vehicles during the high season.

How do I pay for my Motorhome holiday?

Tour America requires that all payment be done through our Dublin and Cork offices, either by cash or by using a major credit card. This payment policy is very strict and there are no exceptions.

What is the cost of mileage?

An estimated mileage charge will apply to your rental. The charge will be a per night charge based on 100 miles for a local rental and 250 miles for a one-way rental. The rate is 32¢ per mile. At the end of the rental you will be refunded for any excess mileage charges, or be charged at the rate of 32¢ for additional miles in excess of the estimated mileage. Cruise America does reserve the right to modify the estimated mileage charge based on the type of rental.

In Canada, the nightly charge will be 160 kilometers for a local rental and 400 kilometers for a one-way rental. The rate is 32¢ per kilometer.

Is there a charge for a generator?

Yes. The generator charge is $3 per hour as determined by an installed running time meter. You can save on this expense by staying in locations that have electrical hookups and not leaving the generator running when you are not in the vehicle. Most motorhomes based in the United States and large size motorhomes in Canada are equipped with generators. A generator is only needed for the coach air conditioner, microwave and electrical outlets. A generator is not necessary for normal vehicle operation and is subject to frequent service interruption.

Can I pay a deposit for my holiday?

Upon confirmation, a $300 reservation down payment is charged to your credit card. This deposit will be applied toward your rental charges. A minimum security deposit of $500 and estimated rental charges are payable at departure by credit card. Personal checks and debit cards without a Visa or Mastercard logo are NOT accepted. For certain rental applications, (examples: Burning Man, Bonnaroo) deposits may be increased at Cruise America’s sole discretion. Credit card deposits are processed at departure. With payment of estimated rental charges other than by a credit card, a minimum deposit of $1000 ($1,500 CDN) is required at departure. Upon return, all extra charges, if any, are balanced against the security deposit and a credit or check issued to cover the refund.

Notice: Estimated rental charge prepayment may be required in full in advance for special rental events, such as music festivals, auto race events, and gatherings in remote areas, at Cruise America’s sole discretion.

Do we have to travel round trip to our destination?

One Way reservations are available between most rental centers by advance reservation only and are subject to availability and some restrictions.

Drop fees may be increased or decreased based on pick-up or drop-off location, dates and vehicle availability. Upon confirmation, the $300 reservation down payment is not refundable.

One way rentals

These cannot be booked online but you can get a price to quote to your clients
One Way rentals are on a request basis until confirmed back by email
One Way rentals between countries are NOT allowed.
One Way rental fees are payable locally by clients at the rental centre

WHILE EN ROUTE
We Provide a Travelers Assistance Hotline 24-hours a day 7-days a Week
You must call the (800) 334-4110 number with concerns you may have, whether mechanical

to the departure rental center or your travel agent or tour operator will not help. Tour America
assumes no liability for your concerns, without a call to Travelers Assistance and documentation of
your problem or issue while en route.

Renter Assistance Guide
The Renter Assistance Guide discusses operation of all features of motorhome operation. Important
instructional information is included in the Renter Assistance Guide. You are responsible for reading
the Renter Assistance Guide thoroughly. This Guide will also advise what to do in the case of an
accident or any damage that may occur to the motorhome, as well as tips regarding the use of
included safety equipment. This is the first place you should look if there is a problem.
The Renter Assistance Guide (English or German) is included with each motorhome rental and may
be viewed online or printed from www.RVCheckin.com

Accidents/Collision
In the event of an accident, you must notify Travelers Assistance immediately from the scene of the
accident (see phone number above). You will be given instructions on how to proceed.
You must also obtain a police or bench report. If you are unable to obtain a police report at the scene
of the accident, you must go to the local police station and obtain a bench report. We will accept
either report.

Winter Warning / Refueling / Breakdown Assistance

WINTER WARNING
Vehicle operating systems are not fully operable during subfreezing temperatures. Check the
Renter Assistance Guide for winter operations but be aware that in Canada and northern US cities,
vehicles are likely to have anti-freeze in holding tanks meaning that vehicle water facilities will not be
available to you.

REFUELING AND SERVICING
You must turn off engine and all ignition sources including gas appliances, refrigerator, hot water
heater, stove, furnace, etc. each time you refuel. You are responsible for checking and maintaining
engine oil, fluids, tire pressure, and coolant levels at each refueling, as well as reporting mechanical
failures immediately. You may be held responsible for mechanical damage if you fail to do so.

BREAKDOWN ASSISTANCE AND REPAIR REIMBURSEMENT
During a motorhome vacation some aspects of the vehicle or coach systems may fail or be impaired.
Our objective is to get you back on the road as quickly as possible.
If a mechanical breakdown should occur, Tour America will assist you to secure over-the-road
maintenance from reputable service providers. All repairs require authorization by phone from
Travelers Assistance at (800) 334-4110 who will document your problem on a customer service log.
Tools for vehicle repair are not provided. Your expenses for authorized repairs will be paid directly by
Cruise America or you will be reimbursed upon presentation of receipts.
Any vehicle service expense over $75 requires a call to Travelers Assistance 1-800-334-4110.
If the cost is under $75 you may have the service completed, but you must keep the receipt for
reimbursement. Rental centers are authorized to reimburse receipts up to $75 without a customer
service log. Engine battery jump-starts require Travelers Assistance approval in advance.

Travel Expense Reimbursement / Damage Caused to Vehicle

Living/transportation expenses are not covered in cases of radio, air conditioning, refrigerator,
generator, microwave, appliance, and cruise control malfunctions since these are not necessary for
basic operation of the vehicle. Expense reimbursement is void in case of collision, accident, or failure

Reference 9(d) of T&C.  AUTO LIABILITY--there are two types of insurance we include in our agreement: 1. Basic Auto Liability (a.k.a. Statutory, Underlying, Minimum State) Ref: 11(a) of T&C.Required by law and is included with every rental where required either on a secondary or primary basis. 2. Supplemental Liability INSURANCE- (a.k.a. SLI) Ref: 12(a) of T&C (USA product only --- not offered/included in Canada)We PURCHASE this INSURANCE for the customer and is included in our price. SLI provides an additional layer of liability protection so if the customer is at fault in an accident there is adequate coverage and less risk of being sued.  IMPORTANT NOTE: Personal Injury Protection (a.k.a. PIP) is not included.  There are no medical insurance benefits provided by Tour America regardless of fault.  See paragraph 11(c) of the T&C. All in all, the client should adequately assess their OWN insurance needs for medical and property prior to leaving their home country and purchase additional travel coverage if necessary.
