The Legends Tour of the United States 2017

Tour America presents The Legends Tour of the United States 2017. This exciting tour will take you through the heart of the Deep South and throughout the journey, you will get to enjoy great music, take in some incredible sights and of course have loads of fun along the way. For the duration of the tour, we will also be joined by the fantastic Leona and Ron Williams who are renowned entertainers. The tour will take us through North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Tour Itinerary

Mon. 8th May – Our journey will begin in Dublin where we will fly to Charlotte, North Carolina. On arrival, we will be greeted by our coach driver and our first stop will be Winston Salem (journey time: 80 miles, 1 hour and 15 minutes). Here we will visit George Hamilton IV’s grave. Afterward, our coach will take us to our hotel; the Village Inn Hotel in Clemmons. Overnight Clemmons.

Tues. 9th May – This morning we will head for Pigeon Forge where we will get to spend the afternoon in Dollywood (journey time: 225 miles, 4 hours). Dollywood is an amazing theme park with lots of music, entertainment and plenty of rides. There are many shows at the park and some of them are based around the park's owner, Dolly Parton. After our day at Dollywood, we will check into the Clarion Inn in Pigeon Forge.Overnight Pigeon Forge.

Wed. 10th May – This morning we will have the opportunity to take a tour of the incredible Smoky Mountains and our afternoon will be at leisure.Overnight Pigeon Forge.

Thurs. 11th May – Today we will depart for Kentucky and our first stop of the day will be in Butcher Hollow (journey time: 236 miles, 4 hours and 30 minutes). Butcher Hollow is where the famous Loretta Lynn grew up and on the tour we will get to visit Loretta’s original home place. Afterward, we will continue on to Sandy Hook and visit the home and grave of the late great Keith Whitley (journey time: 48 miles, 1 hour and 15 minutes). On arrival into Morehead (journey time: 26 miles, 35 minutes), we will check into our next hotel, the Hampton Inn. Overnight Morehead.

Fri. 12th May – After breakfast we will depart for Louisville and en-route we will make a stop in Lexington to take in a tour of the Three Chimneys Thoroughbred Horse Farm (journey time: 65 miles, 1 hour). Afterward, we will continue our journey to Louisville (journey time: 77 miles, 1 hour and 15 minutes) where we will visit Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Derby Museum and in Downtown, we will visit the Evan Williams Distillery and the Muhammad Ali Museum. After our busy day, we will check into our hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Downtown. Overnight Louisville.

Sat. 13th May – This morning depart for Owensboro, Kentucky (Journey time: 110 miles, 2 hours) and our first stop will be at the Bill Monroe Home place. Here you will have the opportunity to pay your respects at Bill Monroe’s grave. Afterward, we will continue our journey to Bowling Green (journey time: 75 miles, 1 hour and 15 minutes) for a tour of the National Corvette Museum. This exciting museum will give you the opportunity to see where and how the incredible Corvette cars were built. After our exciting tour, it's on to Music City, also known as Nashville (journey time: 65 miles, 1 hour)! On arrival into Nashville, we will check-in the Guest House Inn Music Valley and tonight we will get to enjoy a fantastic show at the famous Grand Ole Opry.Overnight Nashville.

Sun. 14th May – This morning we will be going on a fantastic Nashville city tour followed by an afternoon visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Studio B and the Johnny Cash Museum. Overnight Nashville.

Mon. 15th May – Today we will embark on an exciting day trip to Memphis (journey time: 212 miles, 3 hour and 15 minutes) where we will take in a fantastic tour of Graceland, the home place of Elvis Presley followed by a tour of the iconic, Sun Studio. Overnight Nashville.

Tues. 16th May – Today you will have time to enjoy everything that Nashville has to offer! We recommend you check out the George Jones Museum or why not head to a local honkytonk on Broadway to enjoy some excellent music. Free use of motor coach.  Overnight Nashville.

Wed. 17th May – All good things must come to an end and today, we will transfer to Nashville International Airport for our flight back to Dublin Airport.
