Wed, Aug 09 – Depart Dublin on our flights to Nashville. On arrival at Nashville Airport we will be picked up by our private coach and transferred to the Guesthouse Inn. Overnight Nashville.
Thu. Aug 10 – This morning we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Capital of Country music, Nashville. After lunch we will visit the Country Music Hall of Fame & Studio B. This evening we will enjoy a great singsong in the hotel. Overnight Nashville.
Fri, Aug 11 – Today the group departs for the Muscle Shoals Alabama area. En route stop & tour the Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg. We will check-into the Comfort Inn Tuscumbia. This evening we are going to enjoy a light and water show. Overnight Sheffield.
Sat, Aug 12 – At 9:00am we depart for a tour of Fame Studio and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. We will then depart for Tupelo and check-in to the Wingate Inn. Overnight Tupelo.
Sun, Aug 13 – Today the group departs for Memphis. En route the group will visit the Elvis Presley Birthplace & Museum, which is a modest, two-room house where the King of Rock & Roll was born on January 8, 1935. From this humble beginning, Elvis Presley began his swift rise to become the world's most popular entertainer. The house, built by his father with $180 draws over 50,000 visitors each year from across the world. As an official Mississippi landmark, the birthplace is part of the 15-acre Elvis Presley Park. It includes a garden walkway system, an expanded gift shop and beautiful landscaping. Inside the park a museum traces his road to fame, beginning with a unique collection of clothing and concluding with such personal items as riding boots and a Las Vegas jumpsuit. Mon, Aug 14 – At 9:00 am we will depart for Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley. The new audio tour of Graceland Mansion is full of music and interesting stories about how Elvis lived in the home he loved so much. You will see the largest privately owned collection of gold records in the world and Elvis' elaborate stage costumes and jewellery. The mansion tour ends with a quiet visit to Meditation Garden where Elvis and members of his family are buried. You can also see Elvis' famous 1955 pink Cadillac in the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum and climb aboard his custom jet the ‘Lisa Marie’. Graceland plaza also offers fabulous shopping and restaurants.
In the afternoon, we will do a tour of Sun Studio, which is the birthplace of Rock'n'Roll. Today the studio, where Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Rufus Thomas, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and many others launched their careers, is open to the public for tours daily while still operating as a studio by night. Sun Studio Cafe is located next door to the studio. Above the cafe is a new museum/gallery featuring hundreds of rare recordings, memorabilia, photographs, and vintage recording equipment. Tue, Aug 15 – Today you have some free time in the morning. At 3:00 pm the coach will take the group to the Rock n Soul Museum. Finally, there’s a place that tells the story of where the beat began! “Rock n Soul: Social Crossroads”, a project initiated by the Smithsonian Institution examines the history of Memphis music and its impact on cultural change. It tells the story of why Memphis. Why did rock n roll begin in Memphis, why did soul music begin in Memphis & why did blues music, which began in the neighbouring countryside come to Memphis & Beale Street before going to the world. You will see stage costumes, instruments, recording equipment, rare film footage, photographs, and vintage jukeboxes from the 20’s – 70’s and you can listen to the recordings on your personal audio guide. The coach will then take the group to the Candlelight Vigil at 6:00 pm & it will return by 2:00 am. Overnight Memphis.
Wed, Aug 16 – At noon, our coach will take the group to a shopping centre. In the evening, we will have a coach available to take the group to an Elvis Concert. Overnight Memphis.
Fri, Aug 17 – Today we depart for the Walk a Mile in My Shoes – All Elvis Tour from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. This is an all Elvis tour for the dedicated fan. Please note that this tour focuses entirely on the life of Elvis, therefore, it includes many sites that are not featured on traditional Memphis city tours. Follow the footsteps of the King from 'rags to riches' starting from Elvis's early life in Memphis to his untimely death at his beloved Graceland. This special Elvis tour takes you to Humes High School, Hotel Chisca, the Thunderbird Lounge, Pop Tunes, Mid-South Coliseum, Audubon Drive Home, Libertyland, the Overton Park Band shell and Forest Hill Cemetery. 'Closer to You' stops will be made at the Memphian Theatre, Super Cycle, the Mausoleum at Forrest Hill Cemetery, and a private tour inside Elvis' Lauderdale Courts apartment. The two-bedroom apartment has been carefully restored to replicate the original furnishings and decorations. Overnight Memphis.
Sat, Aug 18 – Transfer from the hotel to the airport where we will fly home. We will arrive into Dublin on the morning of Sunday 19th August.
