TORONTO EAST COAST SHOPPING HEAVEN

Toronto East Coast Shopping Heaven – If like me you are in a love affair with shopping then you probably love to head off on exciting city breaks in North America for the odd shopping spree.

I love to shop and like lots of you, many of my holidays over the years revolved around this amazing hobby. Ive been to NYC to shop on several occasions and I've been to many other U.S. shopping destinations as well, Orlando, Las Vegas, you name it.

So when I decided to move to Toronto, I quickly researched what the shopping was going to be like and much to my delight; Toronto has turned out to be one of the best cities I've ever experienced for a good old shopping spree.

The Eaton Centre is the heart of it all here in Toronto and being located at Yonge and Dundas means that most of the city centre hotels are only a few short steps away. The enormous centre boasts 230 retailers, eateries & services…yes you read that right 230! It literally can take days to see it all. A dream in my eyes!

I spend most of my Saturdays in the centre looking for bargains and purchasing fabulous new clothes. My budget can vary and luckily for me, the Eaton Centre has stores for every price range. If you are coming for the bargains there's Old Navy, H&M and Aeropostale who always have amazing deals and sales on. Or if you are coming with a bit more to spend you can visit Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, J Crew and Banana Republic. The list goes on! Sears the main department store in the centre and it stretches across several floors, it's huge! Forever 21 and American Eagle Outfitters are also among my favourite stores in the centre for new trendy, fashionable clothes at great prices.

We all know shopping is hard work so if you are feeling peckish after a hard days spending head down stairs to the Urban Eatery. This huge food court is not your typical food court; it houses sushi bars, salad bars, thai bars and so much more while also been accompanied by the good old fast food chains McDonalds and KFC. For something totally different, I recommend going to New York Fries for some Canadian Poutine.

Poutine is a Canadian dish that consists of fries, cheese curds and gravy and it is delicious. I personally recommend the Pulled Pork Poutine after a hard days shopping. You deserve it!

I've been living in Toronto two months now and having visited the Eaton Centre every week I still haven't been into every store. It really is a shopper's paradise.

So if you have been to all the other main US shopping cities why not try somewhere a little different where the shopping is just as good. The city is fabulous and there is so much to do on a trip here. You can read about the fabulous attractions here (please link to first blog post) and the best thing is Toronto is located on the east coast so it's very accessible and affordable to get here from Ireland.

I'm off to NYC in a couple of days, so once I get back I will let you all know what I got up too.

For now, it's good bye from this side of the world.
